*Not much happening over at our discord server, but it should at least be possible now:
made link to join the Discord server, and posted that on the homepage/Twitch/Youtube.
*Checked that discord works during streams. This means that I can have it on during streams,
chat/post things if need be / be accessible
Streams
*3 more "Going Medieval" streams in the "books", along 1 more dev-vlog.
New streaming strategy
* My old plan was bad: do non-scripted dev-vlog/talks on twitch and then publishing them on youtube,
with some editing if need be. And do LIVE gaming streams on twitch and youtube
* I will do a quick intro video for YouTube; what the channel and myself as dev is all about.
* I will then shift my dev-vlog towards scripted/videos to be uploaded to youtube, prefarbly on a weekly or semi-weekly basis
* The above to improve my video quality, as the former impromptu dev streams were just plain bad.
* I still want to be accessable on streams for dev chat, but I a will not be doing a dedicated thing for it anymore.
* Instead I will continue with my Let's play streams, but pivot it towards more "Hang out and chat dev with the developer of World of Erdûn, whilst he is playing a chill game"
* This will allow me to integrate playing stream to the dev aspect, and allow me to more focus on just playing games, if no dev/chat interaction is happening
* I would like the gaming streams to go LIVE on Twitch and YouTube, but I am not sure that I have the needed bandwith / checking for this currently
Homepage

OBS
* Fixed my microphone settings/filters(again)
* Made stream ended scene.
* I now have different profiles/scene selection profiles

World of Erdûn: new game

First Ever Twitch Stream!
* Did 5 streams that were such dumpster fires that I deleted them
* Then I finally ended up with a stream that was merely a big hot mess and stuck with it
* I aimed for a succinct 20-30 min video but ended up with 1 hour's worth of garble
* Got my first-ever follower and chatter, so there's that at least
* NOTE TO SELF: ALWAYS BE IN STUDIO MODE WHEN STARTING A STREAM!
Streaming
* Did 5 (each approx 3 hrs) let's play streams: "Going Medieval"
* Did a dev-chat.
* Follower count now 3

* Fixed the intro walk/stream start (did not work)
Stream Elements
*Fixed chat display for both DEV and PLAY streams
*follower alerts enabled
Get ready for TWITCH streams
* OBS: Fixed Twitch streaming and general recording settings
* Main desktop-view cleaned for stream, OBS to secondary desktop view
* Cleaned the garage/working space for that professional-looking stream (background)
* Wrote the above to lose the illusion of said professionalism
* Tried to think of something profound to talk about in my first-ever Twitch/LIVE stream tomorrow
* Failed with the above and did an intro walk and blank screen highlights reel instead

Thank you for considering supporting Pixelated Frozen Lion!
Any form of contribution is helpful, and it does not need to be monetary. Simply watching Twitch streams, liking and subscribing to YouTube videos, or actively participating in the Discord server is really helpful!
That being said, please know that any financial aid contributes to keeping the game creation on schedule and realizing all the planned features.
It also helps me to continue hosting streams and creating community content simultaneously. I'm deeply grateful for every contribution!
If you have the willingness and means to help financially, you have several options. However, only choose what suits you, and please do not overextend yourself.
Although some financial options may be more favorable than others, all forms of support are valuable and significantly better than nothing.
That being said, I strongly prefer Ko-fi over Patreon, as it is much fairer to both the sender and receiver.
Here are some financial support options:
Ko-fi is a great and very popular platform! Through it, you can make one-time donations (starting from 1 EUR) or set up monthly payments (again, starting from 1 EUR) directly to me via PayPal. While there is almost no fee, I've enabled the contributor perk, offering 5% from each transaction to the Ko-fi community. This is the only cost involved, with the remaining 95% going to support Pixelated Frozen Lion. It's a very fair and reliable service.
For those opting for monthly payments, select your tier based on your preferred content: either game development with World of Erdûn, my streaming content, or both.
There are no extensive perks; just acknowledgment in the game credits and on streams as a token of my gratitude. I do my very best to treat everyone equally, regardless of their financial capacity.
I've kept the first two tiers as affordable as possible at 1 and 1.1 EUR respectively. The last tier combines the costs of the previous ones to ensure fairness in acknowledgments.
Additional tiers are unnecessary really, as you can always choose to contribute more if you wish and are able to do so easily.
Patreon is the granddaddy of monthly subscription platforms, perhaps the most popular. Its philosophy differs greatly from the donation-oriented Ko-fi. Patreon acts as an intermediary, and all payments go to and from them.
Also, Patreon emphasize that they facilitate services being sold (for perks, benefits, additional content), making it subject to sales tax (US) or under VAT (EU).
This means that instead of 95-100 % of payments going to the receiver, only around 60-80% of them will. I will provide a breakdown on this in my Discord/Let's Dev Chat stream.
Nevertheless, this is not about what I consider fair, but what people like to use. Many have patreon accounts already and want to focus their payments from one place - which is understandable.
Remember, supporting a streamer goes beyond pure monetary donations. Liking, sharing, and just watching the channel also contribute!
That being said, Twitch offers various donation options. Be aware that around 50% of all payments go to Twitch, and the remainder supports Pixelated Frozen Lion.
For one-time donations on Twitch, you can choose either "giftsubs" or "bits".
While bits, especially when bought in bulk via desktop, are slightly more cost-effective, giftsubs enhance stream visibility, making them generally the more attractive option for streamers.
Monthly donations are made by subscribing to an appropriate channel tier, which also makes the stream ad-free. This not only directly supports the channel but also boosts visibility.
Lastly, if you have Amazon Prime, you get one free Twitch subscription every month. This option requires manual activation each month but is a fantastic way to contribute without additional cost!
10th of JAN 2024:
The "Let's PLAY" and "Let's TEST" streams exclusively showcase "Going Medieval" for the time being.
The reason behind this choice is that the game offers a suitably chill and slow-paced environment, allowing me to better gather my streaming "act"together (before venturing forth to more demanding games).
8th of JAN 2024!:
Streaming premiere (DEV VLOG)
